Former Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane and his wife, Moira Tlhagale, are reportedly embroiled in a legal dispute with an international football agent over an alleged unpaid commission exceeding R1.2 million.

The conflict involves Iranian football agent Hamed Ghadiri, who claims he was not compensated for facilitating Mosimane’s coaching move to Iranian club Esteghlal F.C.. According to reports, Ghadiri has taken legal action against Tlhagale’s company, Moira Tlhagale Sports Marketing and Management (MT Sports), accusing the agency of failing to honour their financial agreement.

The dispute came to light after Ghadiri’s legal representatives issued a formal letter of demand to MT Sports, requesting payment of $75,000 (approximately R1.2 million). The letter warned that failure to settle the amount could result in court proceedings.

According to the agent’s lawyers, MT Sports granted Ghadiri a special power of attorney, authorising him to negotiate Mosimane’s contract with Esteghlal. Following this, Ghadiri allegedly secured an employment offer for Mosimane, which led to the coach signing a contract with the club in October 2024.

As part of the agreement, MT Sports reportedly committed to paying Ghadiri 75% of the fee the agency would receive from the club once the deal was finalised. However, despite fulfilling his obligations, Ghadiri claims he has yet to receive payment.

The lawyers further allege that there were delays in providing Ghadiri with a signed copy of the service agreement, though it was eventually issued after continued follow-ups. They argue this confirms that MT Sports acknowledged its financial obligation.

Adding to the claims, it is alleged that Mosimane reassured Ghadiri via a WhatsApp message in February 2025, telling him not to worry and promising that payment would be made. Even after Mosimane’s contract with Esteghlal ended prematurely, Ghadiri was reportedly assured he would still be compensated once the coach’s dispute with the club was resolved through FIFA structures.

Ghadiri’s legal team claims Mosimane has since received payment from the club, yet the agent remains unpaid. They maintain that the full amount is still outstanding and legally due.

Despite these allegations, Mosimane has denied owing any money. He acknowledged that legal discussions are ongoing between the parties but insisted he is not personally responsible for the payment.

Meanwhile, Ghadiri has expressed disappointment, stating that he trusted Mosimane based on their agreement and shared understanding. He claims he was assured of payment and now feels let down by how the situation has unfolded.

Efforts to obtain comment from Tlhagale were unsuccessful at the time of reporting. However, Ghadiri confirmed that he has formally instructed his lawyers to proceed with the matter.

If MT Sports fails to settle the amount, the case is expected to proceed to court, potentially escalating into a prolonged legal battle involving all parties.
